Definitions concept

In riskrunner, you have access to definitions. The concept here is to create a general terminology you can reuse. When you create a component, it is linked to a definition. This definition is unique inside an assessment.

Adding a definition

When creating component inside a review, a definition will be created if it doesn’t exsist yet, in this case the component will be attached to the existing one. Alternatively, you can manually add definitions.

Either in an assessment by going to the definitions tab, and choosing which type of definitions you want to add :

Inside a review you can also search and include definitions with each search box.

Editing a definition

Inside an assessment, you can click on the edit button of a definition :

Within a review, click on the definition to access its editing options. You can also edit a definition through a component if the definition is include in the review.

Deleting a definition

You can delete a definition within an assessment or a review.

When deleting, you will see all the component that will be affected (inside a review, you will also be able to assess this part). You can choose to delete the definition or to reassign it (and all it’s link) to another definition.

Warning

Reassigning will keep description and field values of the origin definitions, if you want to choose those options, you can merge definitions instead.

Reassign is only available outside a review, but you can achieve the same result with the next feature Merging

Merging a definition

By editing a definitions with the name of an existing one, you will have the opportunity to merge them.
