Import¶
Sometimes it can be useful to import data from other sources. A great tool to create bowtie diagrams with is BowTieXP. You can create bowtie diagrams in BowTieXP and then import them into Riskrunner.
To import a bowtie from BowTieXP into Riskrunner:
Open up BowTieXP, go View > Windows > Scrapbook.
Drag the bowtie groups you’d like to import from the treeview into the scrapbook. You need either bowtie group or a hazard for the import to work.
Click the export to excel button in the scrapbook menu and save the excel sheet somewhere you’ll be able to find it later. Both *.xls and *.xlsx files are supported
Go to a review in Riskrunner.
Click the import button, select the excel sheet and click Open.
Click OK to verify you want to go ahead with the import.
Your data will now be imported into the review. Bear in mind that the import could take longer if you’re importing a lot of data.
Warning
Currently the import will only work for the basic bowtie elements. No metadata will be imported. Escalation factors, activities, document links etc. will also be ignored.
